The manufacturer of OneTouch SureStep test strips (LifeScan, Inc.) has recalled specific lots of strips, detailed below, because the strips provide inaccurate readings at high glucose levels. Falsely low results have been found for blood sugars greater than 400 mg/dL. The lots were distributed between August 2009 and January 2010. Patients with the lot numbers can call LifeScan at 1-800-574-6139, 5AM-7PM PST or visit www.Surestep.com to request replacement products shipped free of charge.
