Active Members
$125 Dues (1st-3rd year following completion of fellowship)
$250 Dues (After third year following completion of fellowship)
Definition: Physicians and other scientists who are Board eligible in pediatric endocrinology in the US or Canada or have equivalent training elsewhere.
Eligibility: Those eligible for Active Membership shall be physicians and other scientist who by virtue of their work clearly indicate an interest and proficiency in endocrinology and metabolism in the young, and who’s scholastic and scientific qualifications are acceptable to and approved by the Board of Directors and who meet the following criteria:
Are Board eligible in pediatric endocrinology in the US or Canada or have equivalent training elsewhere.
If Applicants have formal training in fields other than Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism, must have two years of postdoctoral training and two years of continued research in areas relevant to Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Applicants will submit two letters of recommendation from current Active Members of the Society. The content of the letter(s) should include documentation that the applicant has fulfilled all of the criteria for active membership.
Rights and Obligations: Active Members shall be required to pay annual dues specified by the Board of Directors. Failure to pay such dues shall be grounds for termination of an Active Member’s membership in the Society.
In addition to the rights enjoyed by all members of the Society, the rights of Active Members shall include, without limitation: (i) the right to vote on all issues requiring approval of the Members; (ii) the right to hold office; (iii) the right to serve on committees; and (iv) the right to engage in other activities delegated to the Active Members by the Board of Directors.
Fellowship/In-Training Members
$25 Dues
Definition: Individuals in training in pediatric endocrinology
Eligibility: Fellowship/In-Training Members shall be individuals in training in pediatric endocrinology.
Rights and Obligations: Fellowship/In-Training Members will submit one letter from their Program Director certifying completion of pediatric endocrinology training with clinical competence, professionalism, and meaningful participation in research or scholarly activity. Fellowship/In-Training Members shall be required to pay dues and shall have all the privileges of Active Members, except those of voting and holding office Fellowship/In-Training Members may be named “Fellows” of committees, appointed at the discretion of the President-Elect in consultation with the Committee Chair.
Associate Members
$100 Dues
Definition: Healthcare Professional with specified training in Pediatric Endocrinology [i.e., Registered Nurse Practitioner (RNP, ARNP), Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Registered Physician Assistant (PA)].
Eligibility: Those eligible for Associate Membership in this category shall include licensed RNPs/APNs/PAS/ demonstrating evidence of: 1.) completion of an accredited graduate level (master’s or doctoral degree) NP/APN/PA program in the US or Canada; 2.) active certification from a nationally recognized certifying body pertinent to the recognized specialty (i.e., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants); and 3.) a minimum of three years of clinical or research-based practice within the subspecialty of pediatric endocrinology. Applicants must submit one letter of support from their direct supervisory physician (per collaborative practice agreement) certifying these necessary credentials, clinical competence, professionalism and meaningful participation in scholarly advancement of the field. If the individual’s immediate supervisor is not a member of PES, the applicant must also submit one letter of support from an active member of PES, with specific attention to the applicant’s contributions to the scholarly advancement of the field.
Rights and Obligations: Associate members shall be required to pay dues and have all of the privileges of Active Members except those of voting for Society officers or holding Society-level office.
